Innovative Programs for Children and Families

You are invited to submit information on programs that you are conducting that are innovative and cutting edge for inclusion in an inventory of prairie-based programs.

Awards in the amound of $500, $300 and $200 will be made for the most innovative programs and will be announced at the symposium. To allow sufficient time to review these submissions in an impartial manner, please submit them by November 20, 2005 to the following:

The Center of Excellence for Child Welfare is collaborating with the Prairie Child Welfare Consortium to promote excellence in the delivery of services to the children and families of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the Northwest Territories.

The CECW and the PCWC are interested in discovering programs that utilize creative and unique approaches to individual or community capacity building, service delivery and collaboration. We are soliciting descriptions of innovative programs for children and families to build a publicly available information base and network opportunities for practitioners, policy makers, administrators and researchers with an interest in this area of practice.

As a result of a call for submissions sent out in March, 2005 we have gathered information regarding 34 programs across Alberta that describe a range of innovation and creative problem solving in overcoming various challenges encountered in the provision of services to children and families at risk
